I had so much fun photographing this lovely extended family. Grandparents were visiting for the weekend and Mom & Dad have been wanting to photograph the whole family together for quite a while. They wore spring flower colors – the hues of hydrangeas – and together it all looked so brilliant against the backdrop of the garden. We photographed in the late afternoon – my favorite time – because the sun is muted, soft and flattering for portraits. And here are some sneak peeks from our wonderful afternoon photo session ~

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010One of my favorite places in Charlotte is the garden at our church, St. Johns Episcopal Church. It is peaceful, beautiful, contemplative and gives me a sense of hope and renewal every time I visit. Each time I go, I see something new. I’ve been bringing my camera to the garden this spring – and wanted to share its beauty with you. Here are some of my favorite spring beauties ~
Spring Break ~ Callaway Gardens
Sunday, April 11th, 2010Tomorrow signals the end of our spring break – a time to be with family, relax, unplug and recharge our batteries. This year we chose to visit Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA – a magnificent botanical garden. I brought my camera to document my family’s trip, but also have been interested in photographing patterns in nature – light, shadow, color and botanicals up close. Shall we say a personal project on the side. The weather was perfect – sunshine and 80s, with a little breeze blowing through. Without further ado, here are some of my favorite photos from our trip to the gardens …
