Fun in the Park ~ A Children’s Portrait Session

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012

I enjoyed working with this sweet mom and her two little ones. Mom wanted to surprise her husband with portraits of their children in the park ~ as holiday gifts. So we had a blast! The children ran around, I ran after them, back and forth over the leaves, behind the trees and in between the branches ~ and here are the portraits from our fun session together in the park ~

A Stroll in the Park ~ Fun Family Portraits

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

I am so pleased to share with you this family photo session from the fall ~ a stroll in the park, walking through the colorful fall leaves. We had a lot of fun together, and used different settings for our portraits at this picturesque Charlotte, NC  park. The children are adorable ~ and so are mom & dad. I was so honored to work with this sweet family and hope they will  cherish these family portraits for years to come. Here are some of my favorite images from our time together in the park!

A Park Portrait Session ~ Delightful!

Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

Had a wonderful time photographing this lovely family in Charlotte’s Freedom Park. A beautiful late afternoon time gave us that soft light that is so flattering for portraits. Mom is a good friend and a fellow reader, we met through our book club and she also enjoys photography. Her daughter looked so sweet and pretty! We had a good time and here are the portraits from our session in the park. Thank you!!!

Family Friends ~ Savage Mill, MD

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

I recently trekked up to the Baltimore-Washington area, to see my family and photograph photo sessions. This family is a friend and a client, and we’ve known each other since our children were babies. It’s so much fun to see these children grow up so nicely ~ each time I visit they are taller and more gorgeous! (is that possible?!) and I get to visit with their mom and catch up ~ a total win-win!  This time we decided to photograph their session at Savage Mill, a lovely historic mill-turned-complex featuring antiques, shops, pubs, restaurants, a French bakery and artists lofts. The setting is beautiful with the historic Bollman Iron Truss Bridge spanning the Little Patuxent River next to the Mill.  And here are some of my favorite portraits from our session ~

Cooler Days Ahead ~ A Look Back

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011

As we steam towards the first days of school and look ahead to the cooler days of fall, I also like to look back and remember some of my fun client families from last fall. today I’m featuring a wonderful family that I enjoyed photographing and getting to know. Mom wanted me to capture a fun outdoor feeling in my portraits, so we spent time in the garden and in the leaves! So much fun! and here are some images from that great crisp fall day!

Sweet Grandchildren ~ An Extended Family Photo Session

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011

I was honored to recently photograph this lovely extended family. They came together this summer to travel to the beach – Grandparents, their daughters and their daughters’ families.  Since one daughter lives a plane ride away, being together is a rare and beautiful occasion. We were holding our breaths that afternoon, because a deluge of a rainstorm started up two hours before our appointed time. But right at 6 pm the skies opened up and the sunshine broke through to give us a breathtakingly beautiful light. As soon as the session was over, it started to rain again! I really enjoyed capturing the “togetherness” of this family ~ I hope you enjoy some of my favorite images from the session ~

Sweet Family Portraits ~ Gorgeous Holiday Cards

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

I’m busy designing my 2011 Holiday cards, taking advantage of the summer weeks to get a jump on the holiday season. I love coming up with unique ways to help you express your holiday greetings. Last fall I had the privilege of photographing this lovely family. From our photo session, my client was able to decorate their home with beautiful family portraits and produce a keepsake card they were proud to send to friends and family members. Here are some images from our photo session and their holiday card. I’ve included a sampler of other holiday cards I produced last season to inspire you! Please contact me at nanine@naninephoto.com to book your fall family photo session so you can decorate your home and be able to send out a unique holiday greeting.

The Epiphany School ~ Pictures that tell a Story

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

Last fall, I was honored to work with the students of  The Epiphany School of Charlotte. I provided candid school portraits of their students and  spent time with the children, documenting their school day ~ reading, listening, working with teachers, relaxing at recess and hanging out with their buddies. The Epiphany School of Charlotte provides an alternative educational solution for children with social and communication challenges such as Asperger’s Syndrome, High Functioning Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or Sensory Processing Disorder. Epiphany opened its doors in the fall of 2010 and will be expanding in the coming year. Head of School Michelle Smith had a vision for the school’s website – a slide show in black and white showing every day scenes with an overlay quote giving a personal perspective. I’m a great believer that pictures have the power to tell the story – whether it’s a news story, an interview, a feature or  to show how a non-profit works. I enjoyed collaborating with Michelle to tell the story of Epiphany in photos. She included Nanine Hartzenbusch Photography on the Community Partners page and I am thrilled! You’ll find a great list of resources so check it out! Please visit their website to view the complete slide show and learn about this new school that is changing lives one at a time.

Three Sweet Siblings ~ A Fun Afternoon

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

A little while ago, I spent a fun afternoon with these three sweet siblings ~ brother, sister and baby boy. Mom wanted to surprise their father with portraits for Christmas so we had to keep it hushed. The children get major points for keeping this a secret from Dad so he could have a nice surprise on Christmas morning. We had a lot of fun photographing each child and baby brother too! Cute outfits and sweet smiles ~ to treasure for many years to come! And here are some of my favorites from this family photo session:
